Hi, I’m Brecht.
My journey with WordPress started back in 2005, when I first installed WordPress 1.5. Yes, showing my age here already. For the first few years I used it purely as a publishing platform, though I was triggered by the potential of WordPress, recognizing it could become so much more than solely a blogging application. And throughout the years, it did!
When I started building sites in WordPress I also picked up quite a lot on security. In 2008 I started working at Combell, where I’m still working today. Initially as a support engineer, now part of the DevOps team. It’s here I picked up most of my knowledge on WordPress Security.
In 2014 I released the first version of this book. But attacks and security measures evolve, so this book just keeps on getting updated.
